Hihi! Here to blog again..Have been bz @ wk ever since the 1st day of holiday...YES! I've gt a job! Fr my exclaimation marks u can tell tht i'm really enjoying wad i'm doing right now! Haha..thought i'll nvr find another job lyk being a sales assistant in Running Lab (tht i lyk so much)..but i'm juz so wrong...Muz start telling fr the day i went to buy lunch fr Ashtons..I was ordering my food when i see a sign in front of the cashier saying " We're now open @ NUS..." Then the thought tht they might need extra help since they have a new outlet so I juz ask whether they need workers.."Juz ask" Ya, and i didn't expect their answer to be a promising "yes"..There and then i began filling in the application form with Michael interviewing me..but becos tht was still late Jan and i told him tht i can only start wk in March so he said he can hold my application form but not consider me as his staff yet as Mar is still a long way down... Ok..then silly me (couldn't resist the gd fd there) went to order spaghetti fr them again b4 Mar came (some where near my exams tht time) and i was told tht my application was lost so i had to fill in another form and be interviewed again, this time by Shawn..Straight after the interview Michael came in and said my form was with him! Haha..dotz dotz dotz sia..so paiseh..this time i'm really employed! =) They told me to start wk on 3/3/2008! I was both happy, excited and scared..Cos the salary is a bit higher than other restaurants and i'm afraid tht more would be expected fr me...I couldn't even concentrated on my exams sia..
Well..my worries were quite silly actually..cos I manage to pick up quite ok..I wouldn't say i did a very gd job cos i did mk a few silly mistakes..(this is a long story..) Becos the area of the seats is rather wide..out of the cashier's sight fr the cashier's position and plus i'm nt very familiar with the seat numbering so when i ask the customers for their seat no. and they kp pointing here and there, saying things lyk "There, the man in black..", "The one under the umbrella..", "The seat in front of the chicken rice stall..", "The big guy over there.." and all kinds of colour shirts come out of their mouths, I was a bit confused and issued the wrg seat no. Therefore, the dishes ended up sent to the wrg table..-_-" Haiz..and there's 1 very impatient man...becos the old man in front of him is taking a long time to decide his order..so when it's finally his turn to order, he said to me "This is too long for an order.." Nvm, i "REN"...Then guess what he did? He was juz about to order when his hp rang and he began chatting away on his hp! Now isn't him the 1 who's tking a longer time?!! The pot calling a kettle black..-_-" Actually it's juz these 2 "episodes" tht drench my mood a little tht day, other than tht, I was quite happy on my 1st day cos there's so many uncles, (ok...maybe gor gor lah =p), aunties and 1 jie jie very "zhao gu" me.. =p And fr there, I once again pick up the courage to talk to ppl, mk friends etc (I've had a bad experience in sch lately..so had kinda lost confidence in myself..) Once again, I feel tht my presence does mk a difference..k lah, dun tok bout unhappy thingys..it's really fun wking @ ashtons express..esp the assembly of the food (ie. arranging the side dishes with the main course on the plates) though it can be really bz fr 5 plus, 6pm to 9.45pm!!! YES!! 9.45pm still gt orders!! Nt surprising yeah?! Our fd is juz too irresistable!! Haha =p There's even 1 couple who kp telling me tht our fd is extremely delicious and even ask for our namecard! Though i'm nt the boss i do feel proud of place i'm wkg in on hearing these..(^ ^)
The 2nd day i did some serving and gt to noe the table no.s better so when i'm back to cashiering on wednesday i kinda gt the hang of it and was able to recognise the tables tht the customers pointed at..I'll nvr 4gt how uncle paul helped me on my 2nd night..(he helped me to identify the table no.s tht the customers pointed out...)
Finally at 6plus, da jie was so kind to let me out of the cashier position!! (She asked me whether i lyk to do cashier or waitressing and i answered her "waitressing" of course! as I luff to move about n nt stand there lyk robot... ) After 1/2 an hr, trouble came...An old man with 2 of his friends and another couple came to tk order and they wanted to eat in..(Tht time I was alr out of the cashier le) and somehow the cashier at tht time wrote "TA" (-takeaway) on the 2 print out paper..and therefore after 1/2 an hr, the 2 table of customers came to complain tht hw come their food haven arrive yet while the other customers who came later than them alr gotten their orders...Of course their orders were prepared alr juz tht they're in TA boxes..-_-" haiz,.the young couple didn't really complain and was very understanding instead..however tht is nt the case wif tht old man and his friends..I was reprimanded by him and when we gave him his tenderloin, he complain (again) tht this is nt lyk wad he ate b4 the last time he came..Khleiser (our manager) had to apologise and explain to them (repeatedly i guess..=( ) I was again reminded tht it's nt ez being the manager coz I've seen the same scene at delifrance where Michael (our manager at tht time) was reprimanded by an unreasonable customer. I rmb Michael telling me tht "Customers are always right." Well..ok..I guess he's right...
I guess I'm really in love wif this job..I can't imagine hw terrible i'll feel when
i'll hafta leave after sch reopens..MAybe i'll juz hide fr my mum and continue wkg? =p Kk, hafta kp telling myself nt to think bout this 1st..we shall see then..who noes? MAybe my mum may juz change her mind after seeing my results for this sem? =p Hope I do well..Best wishes for me n u guys out there too! Tata~

Well..after tht curry puff presentation, i was mugging n mugging everyday for the coming exams so tht i can at least maintain my GPA (which i had no hope of initially due to the presence of the te ko toufu man teaching us biostats n the 4ever-dun-understand physics...-_-") I keep thinking whether life's juz about studying n studying till u come out to society then u start wkg n wkg? Then wad's the point? It's lyk we can nvr enjoy wad we sowed rite? So i suddenly decided to slack the night b4 biostats n org chem..i was happily watching tv the whole day (wif my mum nagg away into my ears of course...) however when it comes to cell bio n biochem my poor heart juz couldn't stop worrying and i juz had to be startled up at 2am to study for biochem to ease it b4 i could fall into deep slp again at 5am...My bioclock's totally upside down for tht month of feb...couldn't even enjoy moi CNY..the thought of the nxt 2 yrs having exams during CNY is seriously a kill-joy man...

Finally! These torturing 2 wks are finally over! I am once again a free bird! Now pondering about whether to go for the ogl leadership trg camp or to be a bit thickskin and ask for leave fr my job which i haven even started! Aeng told me ogl's a thing nt to be missed...my mum's also kp nagg at me to go for it but the prob is i haf alr promised the ppl there i could wk the whole of mar le! haiz..really hate this kinda dilemma..dear readers, give me some opinions if u can! =p

Guess i won't be free for long..haf a job to commit to this mar..no travelling or if u consider gg to malaysia as gg overseas then yes, i' gg to malaysia fr 26th mar to 29th mar on an expedition..so exciting! May get to noe more frens other than the 1s in my class..get to embrace the nature...ok..guess my hols wun be as bored as i had expected...

Gg back to my hobby straight after exams.guess wad? Of course it's baking! Suddenly have an urge to bake the kinda biscotti we have in our library..n i succeeded! haha..look how palatable the slices look!

They really taste exactly lyk the 1s i bought fr galicier confectionery ( the bakery @ the corner, near NTUC @ srg) during CNY...I really love the biscotti there but when i returned to buy a 2nd tub it was already sold out! So fast! Haha..nvr thought tht i can reproduce them myself!!! =p Nxt yr dun need to buy fr them le, home made better! =p

Kk..it's 3.08am now n i'm still nt tired after 1 hr of blogg n 3hrs of internet surfing...searching for new recipes to try out..=p hafta leave the comp now or else i guess the nxt time u guys see me i cannt see u le..=p..nitez evri1! ENJOY UR HOLS!!!
